2025 Appointment of New Chair and Vice Chair of the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force

March 12, 2025 – The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (Task Force) today welcomed Michael Silverstein, M.D., M.P.H., as chair and Esa Davis, M.D., M.P.H., as vice chair. John Wong, M.D., MACP, will remain in his role as vice chair. Dr. Silverstein will assume the role of chair from Wanda Nicholson, M.D., M.P.H., M.B.A., who will now serve as immediate past chair.

Dr. Silverstein served as vice chair of the Task Force from 2023 to 2025 and as a member from 2016 to 2020. He is the George Hazard Crooker University professor of health services, policy, and practice at the Brown University School of Public Health and the director of Brown University’s Hassenfeld Child Health Innovation Institute.

Dr. Davis, who served as a member of the Task Force from 2021 to 2024, will now return to the Task Force as vice chair. She is a professor of family and community medicine, the associate vice president for community health at the University of Maryland Baltimore, and the senior associate dean of population and community medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
