August 10, 2021 – The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force released today a final recommendation statement on screening for gestational diabetes. The Task Force recommends that clinicians screen all pregnant people at or after 24 weeks of pregnancy. More research is needed on screening for gestational diabetes before 24 weeks.
