June 5, 2018 – The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force seeks comments on a draft recommendation statement and draft evidence review on screening and behavioral counseling interventions in primary care to reduce unhealthy alcohol use in adolescents and adults. The Task Force found that clinicians should screen all adults for unhealthy alcohol use and offer brief counseling to those who drink above recommended limits. The Task Force also found that more research is needed to make a recommendation for adolescents. The draft recommendation statement and draft evidence review are available for review and public comment from June 5, 2018 to July 2, 2018 here.
