December 19, 2017 – The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force seeks comments on draft recommendation statements and draft evidence reviews on two topics: screening for cardiovascular disease risk with electrocardiography (ECG) and screening for atrial fibrillation with ECG. The Task Force found that adults at low risk for heart attack or stroke should not be screened with ECG and insufficient evidence on ECG screening in adults at medium or high risk. The Task Force also found insufficient evidence on ECG screening for atrial fibrillation. The draft recommendation statements and draft evidence reviews are available for review and public comment from December 19, 2017 to January 22, 2018 at /uspstf/public-comments-and-nominations. The public comment period has been expanded from its standard 4 weeks to 5 weeks to account for the upcoming holidays.
