September 11, 2018 – The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force seeks comments on a draft recommendation statement and draft evidence review on ocular prophylaxis for gonococcal ophthalmia neonatorum. After reviewing the evidence, the Task Force recommends prophylactic ocular topical medication for all newborns for the prevention of gonococcal ophthalmia neonatorum.
