October 4, 2011 – The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) is inviting public comment on its draft recommendation statement on Screening for Hearing Loss in Adults Ages 50 Years and Older. This is an update of the 1996 USPSTF recommendation. The updated draft recommendation applies to adults ages 50 years and older who show no signs or symptoms of hearing loss. It does not apply to people seeking treatment for hearing problems.
